Clips which inspired me for some parts of the video - Nick

Thoughts on Evaluation 1 and How I'm going to answer it- Nick

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

I was thinking that I may produce an inside magazine article to make it look as if I have been interviewed by a professional music magazine. For example somebody like NME or Kerrang.
I was thinking that it could look like this

evaluation notes

the question:
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

research + planning influences work / tube chop from existing videos

When responding DON'T:

write an essay
simply list points
produce a PowerPoint
waffle!
claim to have been 'original' (you haven't been, it's not possible!)
ONLY discuss your video

When responding DO:

Write about all THREE products
Be creative (how can you respond in an entertaining yet informative way?)
Use technology (e.g. photoshop, tubechop, prezi, scribd, iMovie, soundcloud, flickr etc)
Be analytical (pick out specific examples and remember your A2 theorists as well as ones from AS. Barthes, Todorov, Mulvey, Gilmore, Goodwin, Stewart etc)
Explain every decisions (discuss the choices you made)
Use the correct vocabulary (longshot, verisimilitude, diegetic etc)

replacement for my lyrics page

i have altered the lyrics page and now it is an information page that is about the band, however i do not have the correct tools and equipment to apply it to my made digipak so it will have to stay as the old version, unless i can find the required equipment that i can use to alter the design.

as you can see i have altered my lyrics page as i only had lyrics for one song and, all digipaks have lyrics for every song if they have the lyrics.

Final design for Digipak/Album Art and Poster - Nick

Here is my Poster and Digipak, I know I have until tomorrow to upload it but as I won't be able to make any changes today, I have had to upload it now to make sure I have put it up in time, although if I can tomorrow I'd like to make a few updates to my album.

I have opted to keep make my poster of the same style as my Front cover to my Album as the  quite a few of the adverts that I looked either had the Album cover as their advert with text added to it or was related to the images on their album such as a Green Day poster has the image from the front cover and back cover of the album "21st Century Breakdown" being used for adverts and posters.

The Digipak design that I choose is a 6 panel Wallet. although it contains 7 sides (6 main and a side panel containing the band name, album name and the code e.g. the albums isbn number)

some of the pictures that i have chosen to use in my digipak

below are some of the pictures that I have taken and I am going to begin editing the images to make them look like they are a piece of Banksy's art work. I will be using a brick wall for all of the backgrounds.

Photoshoot pictures for Digipak and website/poster - Nick

These are the pictures for my digipak. There are three pictures which I took as evidence of us doing a photoshoot, these are of darren posing for his own digipak and two of damon taking a photo of us, the rest I originally intended on using although not all are of a decent quality so won't be used, I expected this as I never thought all of the photos would be what I wanted, but I'm still happy with them

Album Art Covers

I have been using Photoshop to create some designs for my album cover

shots of me editing the first 1:48 of our final film

in the shot above i was at the 0:50 time period of the song and on the story board that we have came up with and all was going well and the storyboard was helping out with the timing of the shots and where to begin. in this section i was improving my skill of working with the story board
in the picture above i was checking the first minute of the editing and comparing it with our storyboard, although some of the shots were not of the storyboard I was still looking at the pieces of the film that were and they were on time and were looking great, for this part the storyboard did not help really as there was not much to look at on the storyboard. i think that my skills of previewing and deciding on what to change has improved and it went well
here is a shot of me adding shots into the software and i was on 1:20 so i was more than half way to completing the video, i was using the storyboard as a brief guide line and it went to plan as i then applied the missing shots that were not on the storyboard in and it all fitted together. i think that my performance in this part was good but slow.
here is a shot of me on the final stretch of my section of the editing and all of the shots that was planned to be used were not on the storyboard so it was not needed, this section was not going as well as there was no storyboard to give me a rough idea of where the shots needed to be cut ect... and i could have used a guide line to give me an idea of what i need to do

shots of me and nick joining up the two sections of editing

inspiration for album cover

the hand holding the heart on this album cover is the greenday logo and this has inspired me to think of a similar design with ours and I would like to fit the design around banksy as his work also interests me
